FAQ

Questions
We Hear Often

Answers to the questions procurement officers, project managers, and engineers ask us most.

What is your typical lead time from purchase order to delivery?+
Lead time varies depending on project type, size, engineering scope, and our current production capacity — there's no single number that fits every project. Electrical switchgear, HVAC equipment, and custom components often influence the critical path. We develop a detailed production schedule at contract execution and provide transparent milestone updates throughout. Contact us with your project details and we'll give you a direct and honest timeline.
Are your buildings factory-tested before shipment?+
Yes — 100%. Every structure goes through a 15-step production inspection that includes dielectric and megger testing on all electrical circuits, polarity verification, operational testing of HVAC, lighting, and controls, and a full paint and structural QC sign-off. The QC traveler packet ships with the building and records are kept for a minimum of 10 years.
Do you supply PE-stamped drawings and can you meet our state's code?+
Yes. We produce PE-stamped structural and electrical drawings for every project. We hold active state industrialized building certifications in more than 35 states including AZ, CA, CO, CT, FL, GA, IA, ID, IN, KY, LA, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, ND, NH, NJ, NM, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WA, and more. For jurisdictions not listed, we coordinate directly with local authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs). Our buildings have been accepted under IBC, NYSBC, Texas IBC amendments, and numerous other state code variations.
What is the difference between your modular approach and site-built construction?+
The core advantages are schedule certainty, quality control, and cost predictability. Fabrication happens in our controlled facility regardless of weather, labor availability, or site conditions — completing in a fraction of the time required for traditional construction. Materials are tracked with heat-lot documentation. Every stage is inspected before the next begins. And because we've done it hundreds of times, scope creep and change orders are rare.
Can you meet aviation specifications for electronic equipment shelters?+
We've been delivering to aviation specification for 48 years. Our shelters are lead-free, asbestos-free, and designed to the specific electrical, structural, and envelope requirements of ALSF and ILS facilities. We understand the procurement process, the documentation requirements, and the field installation expectations from decades of work in the sector.
Do you handle transport and installation, or just fabrication?+
We manage the full process — fabrication, DOT-compliant transport, crane offloading, foundation anchor bolt connection, and commissioning support. Our OSHA-certified Installation Manager is on site for every delivery. You get one contract, one point of contact, and one responsible party from first drawing to final energization.
Can buildings be relocated after installation?+
Yes. Our welded steel skid base is designed for the structure to be crane-lifted and relocated. This is a significant operational advantage over site-built construction — particularly for temporary deployments, lease sites, or facilities that may be needed elsewhere in five or ten years.
What certifications and quality documentation do you provide?+
Every project includes: PE-stamped drawings, 15-step QC traveler packet, dielectric and megger test records, material mill certifications with heat-lot tracking, paint QC logs, HVAC commissioning records, and state insignia certification where applicable. Records are retained for a minimum of 10 years. Our full ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System is documented and certified. Download ISO 9001:2015 Certificate →
What warranty do you offer on JoaQuin buildings?+
Every JQMC building is covered by a comprehensive manufacturer's warranty covering structural integrity, electrical systems, paint and finish, and HVAC components. Warranty terms vary by project type, configuration, and customer requirements — specific warranty documentation is provided per project. Contact us at sales@joaquinmc.com for the warranty package on your specific build.

3rd Generation
Family Business

Founded in Denver in 1978 — minority-owned, three generations deep, still privately held. We've grown into one of the country's leading designers and manufacturers of specialized equipment enclosures, but the same family that put our name on the door is still putting it on every building we ship.

DBE & MBE certified across multiple states. 350+ combined years of in-house expertise. Every enclosure we build, we'd be proud to put our name on. Because we do.
